All Kinds Of Industrial Ceramic Crucible
A crucible is a high-temperature container used in the laboratory to melt samples or burn precipitates. It is a cup-shaped vessel, larger at the top and smaller at the bottom, shaped like a truncated cone. It is generally made of highly refractory materials such as clay, graphite, porcelain clay, or relatively refractory metals. Crucibles were first used in alchemical experiments to hold liquids or solids (glass, metal, or other substances) for high-temperature heating. In metallurgy, the container used to melt metals is also called a crucible.
The crucible material must be heat-resistant, relatively strong, and not susceptible to chemical reactions at high temperatures. Traditionally, crucibles were made of ceramic, but modern crucibles are made of metals such as graphite, platinum, rhodium, nickel, and chromium. Some crucibles have lids made of the same material.
